Naziatul Shafeenaz

Naz was appointed as Chief People Officer of Boost, the regional full spectrum fintech arm of Axiata in February 2022. She was given the mandate to oversee people strategy and operations across Boost with the aim to make working life a lot more meaningful and impactful for our fellow Boosties.

 

Prior to joining Boost, Naz was the Group Head, Talent Management of Axiata Group Berhad, with the responsibilities to look after leadership pipeline and development across all Axiata operating companies. Her career has been a mixed bag of consulting and corporate experiences having served companies such as Deloitte, Ernst & Young, Prudential, Sime Darby Group, Willis Towers Watsons, etc.

 

Through these extensive experience, Naz has gained practical skills in the realm of strategic human resources, spanning multiple domains such as change management, organizational development, talent management, performance management, strategic workforce planning, rewards, etc.  Naz graduated from University of Southern Queensland, Australia with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) majoring in Psychology.

Mallory Loone

Mallory Loone is the co-founder of Work Inspires, a people engagement and development company, who has worked with many Fortune 500 companies, both locally and abroad, customising for different level of employees. Mallory has also provided keynote sharing for companies like AirAsia, Orsted, HSBC, SP Setia, Unilever, Schneider Electric and many more.
  

Her experiences in the people development scene have earned her the recognition of Malaysia’s Most Talented Coach, 2019 by the World HRD Congress, Top 100 LinkedIn Icons to follow in Malaysia by Marketing in Asia, 2020 and was a 4 times TEDx Speaker. Work Inspires is also award Employee Engagement Consultancy by HR Vendor award 2022.

 

She continues to contribute to society by mentoring startups and youths. Mallory was also part of the Tulips Movement Council aimed to Inspire and Unleashed Women’s and Youth’s potential to grow as well as a board of the ASEAN Human Development Organisation Malaysia.

Assoc Prof Dr Mohamad Afzhan Khan

Assoc Prof Dr Mohamad Afzhan Khan holds a PhD in Business, Administration with an interest of implementing flexible learning pathways in Malaysia. With a background in accountancy, AP Dr Afzhan has over 15 years of both industry and academic experience having worked in the Oil & Gas as well as the Insurance sector, with stints in teaching at OUM, UUM, University Malaysia Pahang and UNISEL among others. He has been part of the academic team in OUM for the past 12 years and has been a key driver of APEL implementation at OUM for the past 6 years. Dr Afzhan has had extensive experience in in assessing institutions more than 50 institutions for granting ODL license in Malaysia as well as has trained more than 30 universities for APEL Access, Credit and Qualification (APEL.A, APEL.C & APEL.Q) under MQA training centre. He is actively writing guidelines and creating audit instruments for MQA and has more than 30 journal and conference publications in the past seven years.

Dr. Murugappan A/L Subramaniam

Dr. Murugappan is an advocate of value translation whereby a company’s vision is the leader’s dream, which needs to be planned, prioritized, and executed, based on evidence-based decision-making as avenue persists. He has worked with multinational corporations (MNCs) from diverse sectors as well as the public sector with a career span of 30 years to date.

Became a researcher, thinker, teacher, and guide by choice. Continuously polishing the leadership traits in him. A lifelong learner who has spent over 30 years following developments in HR, evidence-based management (EBM), people analytics, leadership, digital disruption, total rewards, human capital financial statement – to name a few.

He focuses on organizational leadership and strategic people practices adding value to both customers and investors. This is facilitated by developing leaders, creating better solutions, and co-creating people centered holistic, and end user – empowered initiatives to meet emerging needs. Leading his organization to awards and accolades locally and globally for good people management practices.

Authored and published a book and a few articles in academic and industry journals and presented some successful HR interventions in technical meetings, conferences, and symposiums. Pro-bono works with underprivileged children, youths and NGOs specifically focusing on young talent development and embracing a thinking mindset.

Dr. Murugappan holds a PhD, MBA (Accounting & Finance) and B Comm. He is also a certified professional member of World-at-Work (US), British Psychological Society (BPS), Talent Economist (US) and CHRO (Wharton, Penn State).

His doctoral research was on the Digital Transformation Leadership Black Box (DTLBB), where he validated the previously asserted presuppositions of different types of digital transformations via a new introduction to phases of transformation.

His current work attempts to look at leadership through the eyes and expectations of investors in this digital age.  As an educator, Dr. Murugappan is accumulating hours of experience in a variety of settings, from open and in-house training delivery to lecturing for open university MBA programs.

Greg Wilson

Greg Wilson is Microsoft Worldwide Public Sector’s Chief Technology Officer for Government. His role is to help global Public Sector Government clients and partners to work with Microsoft technologies to achieve more by empowering growth, innovation, and digital/AI transformation.  He oversees support around the globe to Government Public Finance, Public Safety and Justice, Government Operations, Critical Infrastructure and Public Health and Social Services Partners and Customers.  Prior to his current role he was Microsoft UK’s National Technology Officer and focused predominantly on the National Security sector cloud, data and AI solutions.

Lee Murphy

Lee is a seasoned Human Resources executive with diverse global experience advising C-suite leaders and boards, as well as leading teams to conceptualise and deliver strategic HR initiatives.

In a career spanning more than 25 years, Lee worked in increasingly senior roles for global technology companies such as Google, Microsoft and Nokia as well as pan-Asian insurer, FWD.

This included living and working in the Asia Pacific region (Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), Brazil and in Finland leading diverse teams across Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East & Africa and the Americas.

Lee has developed a holistic perspective on unlocking the full potential of people, systems and processes that can drive and sustain high-performance cultures. His roles have spanned the full breadth of the HR function from people and organisation strategy to transformational change, leadership coaching, talent management, inclusion and diversity, HR technology, people experience and organisational development initiatives.

Most recently, Lee was Group Chief Human Resources Officer with FWD. He is currently an adviser to Hupo, a technology enabled coaching platform in Asia Pacific. Lee has previously served on boards both in Hong Kong and Australia.

Lee holds a Master in Business Employment Relations from the University of Technology, Sydney.

Sook Hoon Cheah

Sook Hoon Cheah has over three decades of international tech industry experience with 26+ years at leadership positions in Microsoft including General Manager for Southeast Asia New Markets.  Her domain expertise lies in driving new business development, strategic partnerships and leading high growth tech environment across industries. 

She currently serves as an Industry Board Advisor for International Medical University (IMU) and is also the Adjunct Professor for Faculty of Business and School of IT of UNITAR. 

 Having lived in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, she leverages her tech knowledge and diverse market experience to advise, coach, and inspire others in advancing inclusive, equitable economic and societal growth through technology. 

Zamhari Zaidi

Zamhari Zaidi is the General Manager of Human Capital Business Partner at Unifi Mobile TM. He has had an impressive career transition from Engineering to Human Resources and has been working at Telekom Malaysia for over 15 years. In 2017, he was appointed as the Head of Human Capital Business Partner for the Support Business Division before pursuing his assignment as the Head of Remuneration for Group Human Capital Management in 2020.

Zamhari is a graduate of the International Islamic University Malaysia, holding a Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Mechatronics Engineering in 2007. He is also a Certified Professional of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-CP), a Certified Total Remuneration Specialist (CTRS), and a Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO).

During his tenure, he has been known for driving and leading several initiatives, including those related to COVID-19 employee benefits, the TM Total Rewards Transformation, Performance Management Framework, certification of ISO for Quality and Environmental Management Systems, development of Competency Framework Structured Training, and improvement of the Customer Satisfaction Index for TM Wholesale Call Centre.

He was named a recipient of the Group CEO Award in 2023, 2021, and 2010, and was inducted into the Kristal Hall of Fame in 2010. Additionally, he has received several awards at his previous division, including Best Executive and Most Promising Talent.

In his spare time, Zamhari loves to participate in running competitions, engage in physical exercises at the gymnasium, and share his experiences by giving motivational talks at universities.

Jane Datta

Jane is a human resources leader with more than thirty years of experience creating
healthy and engaged workplaces, identifying workforce risks and opportunities, and
implementing technological and data-driven solutions. She recently established JCD
Advisory which specializes in helping leaders understand and analyze workforce trends
and organizational needs, and create strategic workforce plans for ensuring they have
talent for near-term and future missions. Jane is also a senior fellow for human capital
with The Conference Board, serving on their steering committee for the Federal
Government Council.
In 2023 Jane retired from NASA as the chief human capital officer where she was
responsible for building the talent for supporting the agency’s mission, delivering
out-of-this-world human resources services, and shaping NASA’s culture to maintain
high employee engagement. Jane embraces that “we are people leaders in the people
business” which guided her oversight of NASA’s human capital policies, practices, and
operations. One of her most rewarding achievements at NASA was overseeing the
transformation of decentralized human capital services across ten centers to a
centralized line of business.
Prior to NASA, Jane was a human resources consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton, and
held multiple human resources roles at United Technologies Corporation.
Jane holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of
Management and a BA in music from Yale University. She was a 2022 Presidential
Rank Award recipient – Meritorious Executive, the highest award for federal government
employees, bestowed on a select group of the Senior Executive Service for exceptional
performance

Michele Sagan

Michele has 25 years of leadership, management and finance experience both in the UK and Malaysia, bringing critical leadership and management insights with her. Having headed various departments in organisations such as Asia School of Business, the Iclif Leadership and Governance Centre, UBS, HSBC, and CIMB, Michele has grown business revenues and built client opportunities over the years, managing accounts up to RM2billion, while also developing expertise in a wide variety of areas, allowing her to advise, train, coach and mentor clients on leadership, strategic thought, change management, human capital development, managing culture, individual performance, career planning, and more.

As department head, within various organisations, she was also responsible for setting the strategic direction and overseeing the operations of the departments from setting objectives, strategies and KPIs, budgeting and financial management, to ensuring efficient operations and creating policies and procedures. She has also led diverse teams of talented professionals, from acquiring and growing talent to monitoring performance metrics to drive productivity and achieve targets. She fosters a collaborative and results-oriented work environment, encouraging innovation and continuous improvement to achieve departmental goals and align them with the organisations’ broader vision and mission.

A certified leadership development and human capital strategist, she has also led, consulted, and facilitated on business strategy and human capital projects, working with board of directors and senior management teams in a wide range of  areas. A certified instructional designer, international speaker and leadership trainer, she has designed and developed curriculum in the leadership and talent development space for MNCs, GLCs and the private sector.. Her clients hail from industries such as Oil and Gas, Construction, Finance, Telecommunication and SME and include the US Embassy, EPF, PNB, HSBC, Khazanah, Talentcorp, CIMB, Axiata, AirAsia, Hibiscus Petroleum, ADA, Bank Negara, Indian Railways and many more.

She is also a certified psychotherapist, executive coach as well as EQ practitioner, certified by ICF and 6seconds, the largest EQ organisation in the world and has coached thousands of senior management teams from MNCs, GLCs as well as SMEs. She is also a key note speaker and panellist has spoken at various conferences and events such as those organised by The Economist, The Financial Times, Amcham and more. The topics include Future of Work, Talent Management, Organisational Transformation, DEI, Women Empowerment, Wellbeing and more. She was also interviewed by BFM radio on the Future of Work in Malaysia.

She has a BSc and an MSc from the London School of Economics, UK and was a Malaysian JPA, British High Commission and Citibank scholar winning various academic awards including Top in the World for Economics from the Cambridge Board. She is currently pursuing her PhD in the Future of Work, Organisations, Leadership and Talent of the Future. She is also a member of the Institute of Corporate Director Malaysia (ICDM), a Professional Member of the Malaysian Association of Professional Speakers, and a member of the Malaysian Association of Psychotherapists. She was recognised by the Malaysian Book of Records for her contributions in 2014. In 2018, won the London Book Fair, “The Write Stuff” Competition in 2018 for her novel. Since then, she has been published in various journals and has written more than 10 books. Her current book is titled, “Future Shaping” and will be out in 2024. She was selected by the 30% Club Malaysia as a Cohort 9 Mentee for the Board Readiness Mentoring Program in 2023. She was also recognised as one of Malaysia’s most successful individuals in 2021 and won the Movers and Shakers Award by the Asia HRD Congress in 2023.

Dr. Ebrahim Al Khajeh

Dr. Ebrahim Al Khajeh, author of ‘How to Hack Your Mind,’ achieved remarkable recognition in 2023. He solidified his status as one of the most influential HR leaders in the Middle East by receiving the prestigious HR ICONS Award from The Economic Times – ETHR World. Dr. Al Khajeh’s accolades continued to accumulate as he was honored with the International Stevie Award for Human Resources Executive of the Year in 2023.
In addition to his HR achievements, Dr. Al Khajeh garnered acknowledgment as one of the top technology leaders in the UAE, a distinction attributed by DT 100. Currently holding the position of Division Director of Human Capital and playing a pivotal role in the Strategic Transformation Committee at Abu Dhabi Customs, he also leads the HR Transformation Project for Abu Dhabi Government Entities at DGE.
Over his impressive 23-year career, Dr. Al Khajeh meticulously achieved a remarkable HR maturity rating of 97.5%, firmly establishing his position as a leader among all government entities in Abu Dhabi. Her versatile background spans HR Consulting, Coaching, Talent Acquisition, Payroll Processing, Employee Engagement, and Event Management. Dr. Chua Wen-Shyan

Dr. Chua Wen-Shyan is currently the Head of Malaysian Smart Factory 4.0 under the Selangor Human Resource Development Centre (SHRDC). He obtained his Ph.D. in Control Systems Engineering and B.Eng. in Mechatronics Engineering from Monash University Malaysia. His key area of expertise lies mainly in the area of Control and Automation Systems, Fault Detection and Identification (FDI), and Predictive Maintenance Strategies; which are widely used in Industry 4.0 applications. He is also appointed by the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) in collaboration with the Machinery and Equipment Productivity Nexus (MEPN) as one of the mentors (advisors) for the PRODUCTIVITY1010 initiative to support the industries in their journey towards digital transformation. He is also current one of the Certified Consumer Sustainability Readiness Index (COSIRI) Assessor (CCA) in which him and his team are passionate in supporting companies to achieve sustainable smart factories.

As the Head of Malaysian Smart Factory 4.0, Dr. Chua and his team are focused in delivering high impact talent development programs to accelerate the growth of local talents who would be the workforce in supporting the growth of Industry 4.0. The programs developed by his team at the Malaysian Smart Factory 4.0 are also able to support the industries and community towards achieving sustainable digital transformation through high impact talent development strategies.

Dr. Anna Tavis

Dr. Anna Tavis is Clinical Professor and Chair of the Human Capital Management Department

at NYU’s School of Professional Studies. As Department Chair, she leads three MS degree programs in the Human Capital Management Portfolio: Human Capital Management; Human Capital Analytics and Technology and Executive Coaching and Organizational Consulting. Additionally, Dr. Tavis manages five HCM certificate programs. She is the co-author of Humans at Work. The art and practice of creating the hybrid workplace. (Kogan Page, 2022). Her upcoming book The Digital Coaching Revolution (Kogan Page, 2024) is scheduled for launch in the spring 2024.

 

Prior to joining the NYU faculty, Dr. Tavis navigated a diverse global career in business, consulting and academia. In business, Dr. Tavis was the Head of Motorola’s EMEA OD function based in London, Nokia’s Global Head of Talent Management based in Helsinki, United Technologies Corporation’s Chief Learning Officer, and she was the Global Head of Talent and Organizational Development with AIG Investments. In academia, Dr. Tavis was on the faculty at Columbia University, Williams College, and Fairfield University.

 

Two of Dr. Tavis’ Harvard Business Review articles in collaboration with Dr. Peter Cappelli : “HR Goes Agile” (2018) and “The Performance Management Revolution” (2016) were published in HBR’s “Must Reads” (2016 & 2018), and “Definitive Management Ideas of the Year” (2016 and 2018) and in “Agile: The Insights You Need from Harvard Business Review” (2020).

 

Dr. Tavis is a frequent presenter at international conferences on the topics of Future of Work; People Analytics and Technology; Employee Experience; and Intelligent Automation in the Workplace. She is a Senior Fellow with the Conference Board and is the Academic in Residence with Executive Networks. She is the former Executive Editor of People+Strategy Journal, a publication of SHRM’s Executive Network and she is currently an Associate Editor of Workforce Solutions Review, a publication of the International Association for Human Resource Information Management.
