Robin is currently the General Manager, APAC for HAWK: AI, a RegTech technology solution that offers an Anti-Financial Crime platform. He started his career as a developer in Silicon Valley before moving to Wall Street where he worked as an analyst in the hedge fund space covering Technology. He then moved to the Regtech/Start Up space which included 7 start up launches, 2 acquisitions, multiple board roles and 2 books. This included a product role at the International Compliance Association, a strategic role at Thomson Reuters/Refinitiv/LSEG and VP, APAC/Head of APAC/Board Advisor for Napier Technologies.
In addition to his role at Hawk, he is also currently the Vice Chair for the APAC Chapter of the Global Coalition to Fight Financial Crime as well as the Global FinTech Liaison for a US Department of Justice’s FinTech Sector Public Dialogue (FSPD), the DOJ’s Public-Private Partnership focusing on the FinTech space.
Mohamad Faisal Abdul Malik is the Managing Partner of Faisal Malik & Co (FMC), He is an immediate past Vice President of the Malaysia Institute of Accountants (MIA). Mohamad Faisal has 25 years of diverse experience in both financial and multinational commercial firms within Asia Pacific such as Shell, UMWT as well as Sime Darby group. He has spent many years helping leaders and apply governance principles and generate value for the organisation. He has extensive exposure to management, sustainability, and ESG and has held various board and committee roles. He is also a member of the Discipline Committee Panel to the Malaysian Bar, President of the Institute Syariah Audit Malaysia (ISAM), and a member of the Nexus Governing Committee (NGC) for Professional Services Productivity Nexus (PSPN) to Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC).
He was awarded as ‘Productivity Champion’ by Malaysian Productivity Corporations (MPC) in 2022, named as the 70 LinkedIn rising personalities in 2020 and 100 Most Inspirational LinkedIn Icon in Malaysia in 2019. He has been exposed to several key engagement (consulting and advisory) in Malaysia and ASEAN business community such as Khazanah Gems, Covid19 MITI professional group task force, MAS Corporate Turnaround and National Industrial Master Plan (NIMP) 2030, as well as World Bank B Ready and World Economic Forum annual Competitiveness Report.
He also serves as an Adjunct Professor to the Faculty of Accountancy of MARA University of Technology (UiTM), an Industry Scholar and a subject matter expert to 3 public Universities and 3 private universities. He is a frequent speaker and regularly appears on TV on the subject and has been quoted in The Edge, Smart Investor, Marketing in Asia, Berita Harian and other media outlets.
Maxim is part of the global Strategic Industries Team at Google Cloud and is
responsible for the Financial Services Industry in JAPAC. In his role, Maxim works with
leading FSIs in the region on solving their business problems leveraging data, AI/ML,
GenAI, API management tools, app modernization and other cloud technologies. These
engagements done across the globe have translated into multiple repeatable and
production-ready packaged FSI solutions, including FSI Customer Data Platform, Risk
Regulatory Reporting, Anti-Money Laundering AI, Embedded Finance and Core
Banking Modernization.
Maxim has 15+ years of experience and proven track record in big data, AI/ML and
digital transformations at scale for financial institutions globally. Before joining Google
Cloud, he worked as AI Success Director at DataRobot helping major companies in the
APAC region with data and AI transformations and as Managing Director in charge of
AI, Data and CRM across 50+ markets at Standard Chartered Bank. His client
engagements in APAC received multiple Digital and AI awards. Before relocating to
Singapore, Maxim worked at McKinsey and Company where he delivered data
strategies and AI use cases for clients in Europe and at Royal Bank of Scotland in
London, UK as a derivatives trader.
Maxim holds PhD in Operations, Information and Technology from Stanford Graduate
School of Business
